GoMatic AI

An AI agency building automation and AI solutions for the automotive industry.

The idea wasn't our problem. We were. It took us fifteen months to launch something we could have shown people in two.

This one started on Discord.

Back then, if I was online for ten hours, four of them were on Discord. I met a friend from Australia there. Then someone from Thailand, then someone from the US. Four people, four countries, and a shared belief that we were about to build something big.

One of our co-founders was around 60 and had spent 35 years in the automotive industry. He'd found a real problem nobody was solving properly, and honestly, he wasn't wrong about it.

We worked hard. We also got trapped.

Every month there was a reason to wait. The positioning wasn't sharp enough. The product wasn't ready enough. One more feature and then we'd launch.

It took us more than fifteen months.

By the time we did, competitors were already there. Nobody was earning. Everyone had their own survival pressures. The project died quietly, which is how most over-planned things die.

I think about this one whenever I'm tempted to spend another month making something "better" before showing it to anyone.

Ship first. Figure the rest out later.

What it does

  • AI and automation services for automotive dealerships and workshops.
  • Lead handling, follow-ups, and customer conversations without manual chasing.
  • A fully remote team split across Australia, Thailand, the US, and India.

Lesson

Fifteen months of polishing isn't preparation, it's delay. By the time we launched, someone else had already answered the question.
